Who These Terms Apply To
These Terms & Conditions apply to all clients of Jackson & Crown, owned and operated by Daniel Jackson, trading as Jackson & Crown, based in Staffordshire, United Kingdom.
By engaging Jackson & Crown for any service — whether by signing a proposal, paying a deposit, or confirming a project by email — you agree to these terms in full.
These terms apply to all services including website design and build, website redesign, local SEO, care plans, and any add-on services.
Quotes & Project Agreements
All projects begin with a written quote provided by Jackson & Crown. Quotes are valid for 30 days from the date issued.
A project is confirmed and work begins when:
- The client confirms acceptance of the quote in writing (email is sufficient)
- The agreed deposit has been received in full
The quote will specify the agreed scope of work, price, number of revision rounds, and estimated timeline. Work outside the agreed scope will be quoted separately before any additional work begins.
Fixed prices: The price in your quote is the price you pay. We do not add fees during a project for work within the agreed scope. If something new is requested, we'll always price it before doing it.
Payment Terms
Standard Payment Schedule
| Project Value | Structure |
|---|---|
| Under £500 | 100% payment upfront before work begins |
| £500 – £999 | 50% deposit to start · 50% on launch |
| £1,000 and above | 50% deposit · 25% at design approval · 25% on launch |
| Pay monthly option | Fixed monthly payments over 12 months · no upfront cost |
Payment Methods
We accept payment by bank transfer (BACS). Details are provided on each invoice. Payment is due within 7 days of the invoice date unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Late Payment
Invoices not paid within 14 days of the due date may incur a late payment fee of 8% above the Bank of England base rate, in accordance with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts Act 1998. We reserve the right to pause work on a project where payment is overdue.
The website will not be transferred to your hosting or made live until all outstanding payments have been received.
Project Process & Timelines
Estimated timelines are provided in good faith and are based on the agreed scope and prompt supply of materials by the client. Timelines are not guaranteed and may be affected by:
- Delays in the client providing content, images, or feedback
- Significant scope changes requested mid-project
- Third-party delays (e.g. domain propagation, hosting setup)
- Illness or circumstances outside our reasonable control
We will always communicate proactively if a timeline is at risk and work to resolve delays as quickly as possible.
If a client does not provide required materials or feedback within 30 days of a request, we reserve the right to invoice for work completed to date and close the project.
Revisions & Changes
Each package includes a set number of revision rounds as specified in the quote. A revision round means one consolidated set of feedback — not a series of individual requests made separately.
- Starter package — 2 rounds of revisions
- Growth package — 3 rounds of revisions
- Premium package — unlimited revisions during the build
Revisions are changes to existing agreed elements. A revision does not include adding new pages, new sections, or fundamentally changing the agreed design direction — these will be quoted as additional work.
Additional revision rounds beyond those included are charged at £75 per round.
We won't sign a project off until you're genuinely happy. If something isn't right within the agreed scope, we'll fix it.
Content & Materials
The client is responsible for providing all content required for the website including text, images, logos, and any other materials, unless copywriting or photography is included in the agreed project.
By providing content to Jackson & Crown, the client confirms that they have the legal right to use all provided materials and that their use will not infringe the intellectual property rights of any third party.
Jackson & Crown accepts no liability for claims arising from client-supplied content. The client indemnifies Jackson & Crown against any such claims.
- Images must be licensed for commercial use or owned by the client
- Text must be original or properly licensed
- Logos must be provided in a suitable format (SVG or high-res PNG preferred)
Ownership & Intellectual Property
Your Website
Once final payment has been received in full, the client owns the website — the HTML, CSS, images, and all content. You are free to host it wherever you choose, modify it, or hand it to another developer.
Your Domain
Your domain name always belongs to you. Jackson & Crown will never register a domain in our own name on behalf of a client. You should always own your domain directly.
Our Tools & Processes
Jackson & Crown retains ownership of any frameworks, templates, tools, or code libraries we have developed independently and use across multiple projects. These may be incorporated into your project but ownership remains with Jackson & Crown.
Portfolio Rights
Jackson & Crown reserves the right to display completed work in our portfolio and promotional materials, unless the client requests otherwise in writing before project completion.
Your website is yours. Once paid for in full, we have no claim over it. You own it outright.
Care Plans & Monthly Services
Care plans are rolling monthly services with no minimum contract term unless otherwise agreed in writing.
What's Included
Each care plan tier includes the services specified on our pricing page at the time of sign-up. Jackson & Crown reserves the right to update care plan inclusions with 30 days' written notice.
Content Edit Hours
Where care plans include a monthly content edit allowance, unused hours do not roll over to the following month. Edit hours are for content changes only — not new page builds or structural redesigns.
Billing
Care plan fees are billed monthly in advance. Payment is due within 7 days of invoice. Failure to pay within 14 days may result in suspension of the service.
Cancellation of Care Plans
Either party may cancel a care plan with 30 days' written notice. On cancellation, Jackson & Crown will assist with migrating the website to a new hosting provider where applicable.
If hosting is included in the care plan and the plan is cancelled, it is the client's responsibility to arrange alternative hosting before the cancellation date.
Your website is never held hostage. On cancellation of any plan, we will provide you with all your website files within 7 working days, free of charge.
Cancellation
Cancellation by the Client — During a Project
If a client cancels a project after work has begun, the following applies:
- The deposit is non-refundable
- Work completed to the point of cancellation will be invoiced at a pro-rata rate based on the agreed project price
- Any balance above the deposit already paid will be invoiced and due within 14 days
Cancellation by Jackson & Crown
Jackson & Crown reserves the right to cancel a project if:
- Payment is not received within 30 days of the due date
- The client behaves in a way that is abusive, threatening, or unreasonable
- The project requires us to produce content that is illegal, misleading, or harmful
In such cases, work completed to date will be invoiced and the client will receive all files produced up to that point.
Liability
Jackson & Crown will carry out all work with reasonable skill and care. However, we cannot guarantee specific business outcomes such as increased sales, search engine rankings, or website traffic.
Our total liability to you in connection with any project shall not exceed the total fees paid by you for that project.
We are not liable for:
- Loss of business, revenue, profit, or data arising from the use or inability to use your website
- Errors or downtime caused by third-party hosting providers, domain registrars, or other services outside our control
- Changes to search engine algorithms that affect your website's rankings
- Security breaches arising from software vulnerabilities in third-party tools (WordPress plugins, themes etc.) on client-managed sites
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death, personal injury, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
Confidentiality
Both parties agree to keep confidential any sensitive business information shared during the course of a project. This includes but is not limited to business strategies, customer data, financial information, and proprietary processes.
Jackson & Crown will never share, sell, or disclose client information to any third party except where required by law or where necessary to deliver the agreed services (e.g. sharing access credentials with a hosting provider).
Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
If any provision of these terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
Jackson & Crown reserves the right to update these terms at any time. Clients will be notified of material changes. Continued use of our services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
We've written these in plain English deliberately. If anything is unclear, just ask — we're happy to explain anything before you commit to a project.
